Description

Our client is seeking a Superintendent to join their team for an exciting new project, which is located just 2 minutes from their office in Charlottesville, VA. This position is ideal for a seasoned superintendent with experience in overseeing large-scale commercial projects. The new hire will be expected to manage a $20 million project involving sewage treatment plant renovations or one of the other active projects in the area.

This role is open due to the client's careful search for the right candidate with the necessary experience and personality to fit the company culture, and they are eager to bring the right person on board ASAP.

The Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Charlottesville, VA will have the following responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of a construction site, ensuring that the project stays on schedule and within budget.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality construction projects, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Supervise assistant superintendents or project engineers, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specification.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, local codes, and company policies.
• Monitor and report on project progress, including timelines, budgets, and challenges.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and labor force.
• Coordinate project schedules and work closely with the general superintendent.
• Troubleshoot problems, resolve issues, and maintain open communication with all stakeholders.

Profile

The Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Charlottesville, VA will have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Experience in managing ground-up projects in the $10-15 million range.
• Ability to work on projects such as a $20 million sewage treatment plant commercial renovation (specific project knowledge is a plus).
• Familiarity with project management software, such as Excel (mandatory) and Procore, P6, BIM/VDC (a plus).
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with an emphasis on a positive attitude and team collaboration.
• Must be located near the Charlottesville area or willing to relocate.
• Experience in overseeing and managing teams effectively.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites.

Job Offer
