We are currently partnered up with an Aerospace Manufacturing Company in their search for a Quality Engineer to join the team due to an internal promotion. This position will report up into the Quality Manager on a 4 person quality team at a 100 employee plant. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience within Manufacturing, has an engineering degree, and has experience with AS9100 or ISO9001. Description
The Quality Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 standards.
- Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and process validations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to review design and manufacturing processes for quality improvements.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee material review board (MRB) activities.
- Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor quality trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in customer and third-party audits and address any findings or corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records per AS9100 and company standards.
Profile
The ideal Quality Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5+ years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and experience in maintaining QMS certifications.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 requirements.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, composites, and assembly.
- Proficiency in using quality software and tools (e.g., Minitab, ERP systems).
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are a plus.
Job Offer
The successful Quality Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $70,000-$110,000 depending on experience
