Description
- Lead On-Site Construction Operations: Serve as the primary field leader for a complex, large-scale commercial construction project valued at $80M, overseeing all daily site activities from groundbreaking through final turnover.
- Manage Field Staff and Subcontractors: Direct, supervise, and coordinate activities of all subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Champion job site safety by enforcing company and OSHA standards, conducting safety meetings, and proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Maintain Project Schedule: Develop and manage detailed short-term and long-term project schedules; coordinate with Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure the highest standards of quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with project documents.
- Coordinate with Stakeholders: Serve as the on-site liaison between the owner, architect, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams to ensure open communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: Anticipate and resolve field issues quickly to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
- Resource Planning & Logistics: Oversee site logistics, material deliveries, equipment, and labor to optimize productivity and maintain orderly operations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily reports, safety logs, progress photos, and other documentation to provide accurate project tracking and communication with leadership.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant Superintendents and other field staff to foster professional development and team performance.
Profile
- 12+ years of Superintendent experience within the construction industry, ideally all with a General Contractor
- MUST have experience with ground-up and/or renovation commercial projects with values greater than $50mil
- Preference for CM at Risk contract delivery experience, working with clients in the public space
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field highly desirable
- Applicable project management software proficiency (Procore, bluebeam, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills including the competency to lead presentations and client meetings
- Effective team-building skills to support a positive team atmosphere & meet high productivity goals
- Local to Raleigh market preferred, however will consider relocating candidates
