Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading both ground-up and renovation projects, with a primary focus on educational and medical facilities. This individual will oversee all phases from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, procurement, and project documentation, while maintaining open and consistent communication with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in delivering healthcare and education projects, thrives in a collaborative setting, and demonstrates the leadership skills needed to successfully deliver complex builds on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee all phases of medical construction projects, including hospitals, clinics, and specialized healthcare facilities, from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines to ensure successful, cost-effective delivery within the unique demands of healthcare environments
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and medical planners to maintain alignment and progress
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts with a focus on healthcare codes, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Lead procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors while accounting for specialized medical systems and technologies
  • Monitor overall project performance, proactively identify potential challenges, and implement effective solutions to minimize disruptions to critical healthcare operations
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, infection control protocols, quality standards, and company procedures across all project sites
  • Manage all project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting records with an emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Communicate consistently with healthcare clients, administrators, and stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations
  • Conduct project meetings and site walks to evaluate progress, resolve field issues, and ensure healthcare-specific requirements are being met
  • Oversee the closeout process including punch lists, final inspections, regulatory approvals, and turnover documentation to ensure facilities are fully operational and compliant

Profile

In return for a competitive compensation package, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 7+ years of experience managing ground-up and renovation projects in healthcare construction, including hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities - essential
  • Proven track record of delivering complex medical projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards - essential
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills for managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and healthcare stakeholders - essential
  • Ability to work onsite daily at active healthcare project sites across the Greater Houston area - essential
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare construction methods, sequencing, and specialized building requirements - preferred
  • Familiarity with construction safety standards, infection control protocols, quality control practices, and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera) - preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field - preferred

Job Offer
