The Controller will oversee financial operations, reporting, and job costing functions for the general contractor in the construction industry. This role offers the opportunity to oversee the accounting & finance department in a permanent position based in Rockford.

Description

• Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Lead financial audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Present financial results and recommendations to senior management.

Profile

A successful Controller should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally with some experience in construction industry
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in managing a team or supervising financial functions.
