Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and timeframes associated with commercial interior construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial interiors, an understanding of materials and labor costs, and the ability to work closely with project managers, architects, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial interior construction projects from drawings and specifications
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing
- Analyze project requirements to determine the scope of work and materials needed
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to ensure that estimates align with design intent and project budgets
- Track project costs and manage budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Review contract documents, bid proposals, and other relevant materials to provide thorough and competitive estimates
- Assist in preparing bids and proposals for prospective clients
- Maintain a database of unit costs, material prices, and labor rates
- Monitor trends in material costs, market conditions, and regulations that may affect project estimates
- Ensure that all estimates comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards
Profile
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an estimator, with a focus on commercial interiors or related fields
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices specific to commercial interior projects
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating, Buildertrend)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Experience with pricing for NYC-specific building codes and regulations
- Familiarity with project management processes and the construction lifecycle
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
- LEED AP or other certifications a plus
