General Superintendent - Structural Concrete

The General Superintendent (Concrete) will direct all field activities and personnel with regards to the Concrete scope. This individual will manage the deployment of staff, quality assurance of work, and relationships with clients as needed. Travel in minimal as the work is primarily focused across the greater Memphis area.

We are currently partnered with a thriving, regionally recognized contractor with offices across Alabama and Tennessee. They are in search of a General Superintendent to join their Memphis team and oversee / manage crews tasked with projects in the local market.

Concrete on a smaller scale is the name of the game. As opposed to large, 2-year projects, this company focuses on faster-paced, more dynamic forms of work such as sidewalks, parking lots, and smaller structural concrete. Description

• Manage day-to-day activities to meet project milestones and ultimately meet or beat project completion date.
• Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
• Oversee up to six Superintendents, their assigned foreman, and their assigned crews
• Maintain daily and weekly logs of construction progress
• Maintain job-site safety, health and cleanliness
• Daily inspection of construction site to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
• Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to produce issues and plan coordination problems prior to beginning construction of the project.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, clients, and more junior staff
• Ensure project documentation and reports are complete
• Attend all necessary job-site meetings, whether on-site or off-site
• Ensure the proper development of less experienced field staff

Profile

• 10+ years of dedicated concrete experience within the commercial or industrial construction industry
• Ability and desire to lead others
• Knowledge of scheduling, estimating, and cost principles.
• Basic knowledge of project management software
• A mature professional with excellent judgment.
• A highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated and results-oriented individual.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and intuitive interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines, and keen attention to detail
