Project Manager - Construction
In this role, you will oversee the mechanical components of public school construction projects, ensuring successful execution from preconstruction to project closeout. You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and clients to deliver high-quality results that meet timelines and budgets on school projects.
Client Details
Our client, a well-established General Contractor based in Norwalk, CT, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Manager to join their team. They are a reputable firm and a destination company working on school and other commercial projects.
Description
- Manage and coordinate all mechanical aspects of public school projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets specific to mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and onsite staff to resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and project specifications.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and conduct regular inspections of mechanical work.
- Prepare project documentation, including RFI submissions, submittals, and change orders.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience managing mechanical systems in construction, preferably within public or institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, local building codes, and project management principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
