Client Details
My client is a respected, long-standing commercial general contractor serving the DMV for over 60 years. They specialize in preconstruction, general contracting, construction management, and design-build services, with a strong focus on religious institutions, schools, and community-driven projects. With a team of ~12-15 employees and hands-on leadership, the company offers a collaborative environment where individuals have direct visibility and impact on projects. Their portfolio includes churches, private schools, commercial offices, retail, and recreational facilities, with the majority of work concentrated in Northern Virginia.Description
This role will oversee field operations across multiple commercial projects, ensuring execution, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Manage day-to-day site operations and subcontractors
- Coordinate schedules, logistics, and inspections
- Ensure safety, quality, and project milestones are met
- Work closely with Project Managers and leadership
- Lead and develop junior Superintendents on-site
- Maintain documentation and reporting using Procore and software tools
Profile
A hands-on Superintendent who can hit the ground running, lead junior staff, and take ownership of projects from day one.
- 5-10+ years of experience in commercial construction
- Proven experience running ground-up projects $15M+
- Background in churches, schools, or commercial builds preferred
- Strong leadership skills; able to mentor junior supers
- Comfortable working in a smaller, team-oriented environment
- Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project experience
- Open to learning and implementing new technology (AI tools)
