An established, privately owned general contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the delivery of public-sector and commercial construction projects, working closely with Superintendents and Project Managers on site. This role offers hands-on responsibility, minimal bureaucracy and the opportunity to grow with a culture‑driven contractor known for repeat clients and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities
As Assistant Superintendent, you will report into a Senior Superintendent and work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard. You will play a visible role on site, supporting day-to-day operations and building strong relationships with subcontractors and inspectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of construction activities on site
- Assisting with site logistics, sequencing and short-term scheduling
- Monitoring subcontractor performance, productivity and quality of work
- Ensuring safety standards are upheld and site compliance is maintained
- Coordinating inspections and supporting close-out activities
- Acting as a key point of contact on site in the absence of the Superintendent
Profile
The Successful Applicant
For the Assistant Superintendent role, we are seeking:
- Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman or similar site-based role
- Exposure to commercial, municipal or education projects is highly desirable
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work independently without micromanagement
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage subcontractors on site
- A safety-first mindset with a high standard of workmanship
- A team-oriented attitude aligned with a values-driven contractor
