Description
Key Responsibilities of a Estimator (Public Works Construction) - Roseville, CA
Cost Estimation: Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project scopes to determine accurate material, labor, and equipment costs for each project phase.
Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids that align with project requirements and client expectations, ensuring bids are submitted within established deadlines.
Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to solicit quotes, negotiate prices, and build strong working relationships to secure the best possible rates and terms.
Budget Analysis: Assist in developing and reviewing project budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying potential cost-saving measures to maintain project profitability.
Quantity Takeoffs: Conduct precise quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and other resources required for project execution.
Value Engineering: Propose value engineering alternatives to enhance project cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and uncertainties, considering factors that may impact costs and timelines, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
Document Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all estimation-related documents, including drawings, specifications, quotes, and correspondence.

Profile
A successful Estimator (Public Works Construction) - Roseville, CA
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and industry practices.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, On-Screen Takeoff).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to interact effectively with stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and cost accounting principles.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
