Project Manager - Mid-Size General Contractor - Madison, WI

Our client is seeking a relationship-focused and experience project manager to lead key projects. They have grown a strong business through focusing on the humanity behind their projects and forging long-term partnerships with their clients.

Client Details

Our client primarily focuses on the construction of multifamily and healthcare facilities although they have touched many types of commercial construction across their history. The company balances a professional approach to construction with the cultural benefits of being a mid-sized company creating a collegiate environment focused on working intentionally to deliver the best product possible.

Company Overview:

  • $100M in annual gross revenue
  • All projects are local to Madison
  • They do not self-preform work on their projects providing only management services
  • They currently have about 50 total employees and 10 office staff
  • Project managers run their project cradle to grave with strong support from office staff

Description

  • Lead all phases of project delivery, from preconstruction and estimating through close-out.
  • Prepare and review estimates, budgets, and schedules to ensure accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
  • Develop project plans, assign responsibilities, and coordinate activities between office, field staff, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive project experience.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor selection, and contract administration.
  • Monitor project progress, financial performance, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and close-out packages.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across internal and external stakeholders.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management with estimating responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and scheduling.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
