Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Portland, ME

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a highly respected, established GC with an outstanding company culture. You'll lead dynamic commercial projects up to $15M, driving success by ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Our client is a well-established General Contractor and Construction Management firm that has been serving the New England region for over 50 years. Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for:



  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout


  • Manage budgets, cost control, and financial reporting to ensure projects are completed within scope and on budget


  • Coordinate and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain project alignment


  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical path activities and adjusting timelines as needed


  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements


  • Lead project meetings and facilitate issue resolution to keep construction activities on track


  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards


  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to meet project timelines


  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce quality control, and support field supervision


  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports

Job Requirements:

assisting with the pre-construction process including budget finalization, contracts/awards, material procurement & submittals
overseeing an Assistant Project Manager
coordinating and leading project, client, and architect meetings
acting as the main point of contact for the client
