Superintendent - Public/Municipal, Ground Up

The Public/Municipal Superintendent will oversee field operations for government-funded projects throughout the North Shore and northern suburbs, including ground-up municipal buildings, community facilities, public safety complexes, and large-scale renovations.

Description

• Lead all onsite construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality control.
• Direct subcontractors, trades, and field staff to maintain efficient and coordinated site operations.
• Work closely with inspectors, building departments, and municipal representatives.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with the project manager to monitor progress and forecast milestones.
• Hold routine progress meetings with trades and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to maintain job flow and prevent delays.
• Uphold safety standards and enforce company safety procedures on all activities.

Profile

• 7+ years of superintendent experience on municipal, governmental, or public-sector projects.
• Proven experience running field operations on large-scale, multimillion-dollar jobs.
• Strong understanding of building systems, civil work, and municipal compliance requirements.
• Effective communicator comfortable working with government officials and inspectors.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and problem-solve in fast-paced environments.
• Valid driver's license.
