Description

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
• Collaborate with senior management to establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Prepare and present financial statements and reports for internal and external purposes.
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report and manage cash flow and forecasting.
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
• Develop and manage financial systems and policies, and oversee the financial management of foreign operations to include developing financial and budget policies and procedures.

Profile

A successful 'Controller' should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or 5-7 years of related experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Construction industry experience
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
