Quality Manager

The client is an industry leader specializing in the design and manufacturing of mission-critical systems for aerospace, defense, and government applications including parachutes, platforms and release methods. Renowned for their commitment to quality and innovation, they deliver high-performance solutions that prioritize safety, reliability, and compliance with the strictest regulatory standards.
Description
They key responsibilities of the Quality Manager are:
- Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Teams: Manage and mentor a team of engineers and quality personnel to ensure adherence to AS9100 standards and operational excellence.
- Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS): Oversee the development, implementation, and auditing of QMS processes for compliance with aerospace and defense industry requirements.
- Ensure Product Integrity: Evaluate production operations to ensure products meet stringent quality, functionality, and regulatory specifications.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with production and senior management to draft, implement, and monitor quality standards and testing procedures.
- Conduct Internal Audits: Manage internal quality audits to maintain certifications and identify areas for improvement.
- Supplier and Customer Interface: Oversee supplier certifications and ensure customer requirements are met with precision and accountability.
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: Lead investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Report to Executive Leadership: Provide detailed reports on quality operations, compliance status, and key metrics to executive leadership and regulatory agencies.
Profile
The successful Quality Manager will have the following qualifications:
- Experience in Aerospace Standards: Demonstrated expertise in maintaining and auditing AS9100 rev. D quality systems, with strong knowledge of AS9102 standards and execution. Experience with FAA is crucial.
- Proven Leadership Skills: Skilled in managing and developing quality teams, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of operational excellence.
- Data-Driven Problem Solving Skills: Advanced proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical process control to ensure product integrity and compliance.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with GD&T, dimensional inspection, and supplier certification, with hands-on experience in government contract reviews and FAA or Department of Defense requirements.
- Strong Communication and Collaboration Abilities: Adept at interfacing with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to uphold quality and regulatory standards.
