Project Manager - Family-Owned General Contractor

My client is looking for an detail-oriented project manager. They have been in the industry for 75+ years and their portfolio is comprised of light commercial projects. This is a great opportunity for a project manager looking for the chance to grow in role and title in a laid back culture that produces excellent projects.

Description

  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets in coordination with the project team.
  • Coordinate resources, subcontractors, and equipment to meet project deliverables.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regularly communicate project progress, updates, and any potential issues to clients.
  • Address client concerns and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring projects are completed within budget constraints.
  • Review and approve project-related expenses, invoices, and change orders.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising project quality.
  • Oversee project quality control and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all project participants.
  • Conduct regular inspections and take corrective actions to address any quality or safety issues.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges early in the project and develop contingency plans.
  • Proactively address issues that arise during the construction process, seeking effective solutions.
  • Mitigate risks related to the project schedule, budget, and client expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports and status updates for clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, and project correspondence.
  • Record meeting minutes, action items, and decisions made during client meetings.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors and field staff, to achieve project goals.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to promote their professional development.
  • Ensure smooth project closeout, including final inspections and client sign-off.
  • Facilitate the handover process to clients, ensuring a seamless transition and client satisfaction.
  • Collect feedback from clients to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.

Profile

  • Client-facing personality and detail focus.
  • Experience with various building systems, delivery methods, and construction contracts
  • Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
  • Working knowledge of construction technology and details. Candidate must be extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in construction
