Client Details

Our client is one of the mid-Atlantic's top General Contractors. They are family-owned and have been in business for over 50 years. They have multiple offices throughout the area, with the majority of their work located between Falls Church and Richmond. Their bread and butter is large-scale commercial construction with the majority of their projects valued between $30 and $100M, however they have completed projects worth $200M+. They have been consistently growing in headcount and revenue year over year and as a result are looking to grow their team. They are currently looking to hire an experienced Preconstruction Manager with multifamily experience.

Description

The Preconstruction Manager - Top Multifamily GC - NoVA will be responsible for:

  • Lead the preconstruction process for multifamily projects, from initial feasibility studies through project design and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
  • Prepare and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Analyze project documents, including plans and specifications, to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
  • Conduct value engineering analyses to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project goals and requirements.
  • Present estimates and project plans to internal teams and clients, effectively communicating methodologies and assumptions.
  • Manage the bid process, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and evaluating submissions.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors throughout the preconstruction phase.
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and regulations to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.

Profile

The Preconstruction Manager - Top Multifamily GC - NoVA will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preconstruction management, specifically within multifamily construction.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily building systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Proven experience with estimating software and project management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
