Project Manager - Commercial Interiors

The Project Manager will lead the full lifecycle of commercial interior construction projects, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and subcontractors.

Our client is a leading Chicago‑based general contractor specializing in Commercial Interiors, Workplace & Office Renovations, Retail, and Storefront construction. Known for delivering complex projects in active urban environments, the firm emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and long‑term client relationships.

Description

  • Manage projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and work plans
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contracts, and performance
  • Lead client, architect, and internal project meetings
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality requirements
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
  • Strong background in commercial interiors, office/workplace, retail, or storefront projects
  • Proficiency with Procore and scheduling/cost management tools
  • Excellent client‑facing and leadership skills
