Project Manager - Springfield, MA - Federal Projects up to $40M

An award winning general contractor with federal projects up to $40M is seeking a Project manager to join their team.

Client Details

This company is a long-standing, family-owned general contractor based in Northampton, MA, with a legacy dating back to 1897. They specialize in public, institutional, and commercial construction projects across Massachusetts and Connecticut, including libraries, schools, municipal buildings, and historic renovations. With a collaborative team of 50 employees and a focus on quality over quantity, they pride themselves on maintaining a manageable workload while delivering exceptional results.

Description

As the Project Manager you will:

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project success
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality control standards
  • Conduct regular site visits and lead OAC and subcontractor meetings
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract administration
  • Utilize Procore for project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and reporting
  • Identify and mitigate risks, scope gaps, and schedule delays
  • Support field teams and collaborate closely with superintendents and internal staff
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards are upheld across all phases of work

Profile

The successful Project Manager will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • General Contractor experience
  • Project background in public & private work
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects
  • Strong literacy of MS Word and Excel
  • Working understanding of Timberline/Sage software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
