The Test Engineer will be responsible for setting up test equipment, conducting system testing, and debugging at the circuit level. Description
Responsibilities:
- Setup and Operation of Test Equipment: You will be responsible for setting up and operating various test equipment to qualify and validate systems. This includes ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition, performing troubleshooting when necessary, and maintaining test procedures to meet rigorous quality standards.
- System Testing and Qualification: Conduct thorough testing and qualification of electronic systems, focusing on circuit-level debugging and identifying any potential issues. You'll be involved in both pre-production testing and the validation of new products as part of the quality assurance process.
- Circuit-Level Debugging: The ability to troubleshoot and debug circuits at the component level is crucial. You will work with complex electronic systems and identify potential issues in both design and functionality, proposing improvements or solutions as needed.
- Client Communication: Given the nature of the projects, strong communication skills are key. You will need to provide clear and concise reports of your testing and debugging results to both internal teams and clients, facilitating smooth engineer-to-engineer discussions.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the testing and qualification processes are efficient and accurate. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring product reliability and meeting project deadlines.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvement efforts, providing feedback based on your testing experiences to refine and enhance the testing methodologies. You'll be part of a team that is always looking to improve testing procedures and adopt new tools and technologies to stay ahead of industry standards.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field) is preferred. However, candidates with significant relevant experience in lieu of a formal degree will be considered.
- Candidates with a strong foundation in electronics or electrical engineering who have worked in a testing or debugging role will be ideal.
- Experience with circuit-level debugging is essential. You should be comfortable troubleshooting at the component level and have hands-on experience working with electronic test equipment.
- Familiarity with test equipment used in electrical or electronics testing, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multi-meters, is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, as you'll be working directly with clients and internal teams. You should be able to explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in setting up test equipment, qualifying testing processes, and performing systems-level testing is highly preferred, though not required for entry-level candidates.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently when needed.
