Project Engineer - Water/Waste Water Projects - South Shore MA
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer with 1-2+ years of construction experience to join their Halifax office and support a $26M water treatment plant project in Plainville, MA. The Project Engineer will play a key role in both project execution and preconstruction efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to learn, grow, and advance with a well-established and stable company.

Headquartered in Halifax, MA, the firm has grown from a small site work contractor into a premier builder specializing in water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, site work, and increasingly, commercial interiors. Description
The responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project operations on active jobs.
Support the $26M Water Treatment Plant project in Plainville, MA through documentation, coordination, and communication.
Contribute to preconstruction efforts by assisting with bidding processes (5-10 projects per month).
Review and process submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Track project schedules, costs, and procurement activities.
Support project close-out documentation and final reporting.
Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards on assigned projects.
Profile
The successful Project Engineer:
1-2 years of construction experience (open to slightly less or more).
Civil construction background strongly preferred; wastewater experience is a major plus.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment.
Must be commutable to Halifax, MA (no hybrid/remote).
Job Offer
What's on offer for the Project Engineer:
Base salary: $70,000-$80,000 (up to $85K-$90K for candidates with 3+ years of strong relevant experience).
Health, dental, and vision insurance with 75% of premiums covered and 100% of deductible paid.
401(k) with 2% salary contribution + 3% safe harbor match (5% total company contribution).
15 days PTO (increases to 20 days after 5 years).
