Senior Project Manager - Public Construction New Jersey

The Senior Project Manager will be site-based and responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of a large-scale, high-profile construction project. This role oversees a project team of 5-6 professionals and ensures the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Client Details

New Jersey based construction firm known for delivering complex institutional and commercial projects. Due to a significant increase in awarded work and a strong multi-year pipeline, the firm is expanding its on-site leadership team to support a major upcoming project.

Description

• Serve as the on-site lead overseeing all phases of construction from mobilization through closeout
• Directly manage and mentor a project team of 5-6, including Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers
• Maintain full responsibility for project cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting
• Coordinate closely with the Superintendent to ensure field execution aligns with project plans
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact for ownership, design teams, and consultants
• Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, change management, and buyout
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contractual obligations

Profile

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

• Cost Plus GMP Experience is a MUST
• Public Project Experience $50M+ is a MUST
• Proven expertise in managing complex construction projects within the property industry.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
