Plant Controller | $1B Manufacturer | La Porte, IN
Our client is looking for an experienced, progressive accounting professional in the manufacturing industry to join as their next Plant Controller out of their billion dollar facility in La Porte, IN. This role will provide you with the opportunity to be on the management team and influence process decisions, while also working in the daily accounting function and building a team.

Our client is a global, plastics manufacturer with operations across 30 countries. The family-owned organization has been around for over 75 years and has grown to over $1B focused with plastics across multiple industries including automotive, medical, pharmaceutical, home/building, shipping and advertising.
Our client is looking for an experienced, progressive accounting professional in the manufacturing industry to join as their next Plant Controller out of their billion dollar facility in La Porte, IN. This role will provide you with the opportunity to be on the management team and influence process decisions, while also working in the daily accounting function and building a team.
Description
- Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, including ongoing maintenance and monthly reviews of the CAPEX budget.
- Oversee all cost accounting activities, reporting, and reviews to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Support the VP Finance with monthly material cost estimates and inventory valuations to confirm correct item costing within the system.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including documentation, annual physical inventories, and ensuring compliance with proper accounting practices.
- Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and impacts of changes in product design or manufacturing processes.
- Assist in establishing and documenting policies, procedures, internal controls, and cost accounting systems, while ensuring ERP accuracy through audits and collaboration with inventory and production teams.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience within the manufacturing industry
- Experience with heavy cost accounting
- SAP experience
