Metal Manufacturing - Machine Design Engineer - Wilmington, MA
As a Machine Design Engineer II, you will be responsible for overseeing one or more product lines, managing their design and development from concept to production. A successful candidate will take a hands-on approach, work closely with cross-functional teams, and focus on continuous improvement in design processes, all while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and relevant technical specifications.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in defining design requirements from initial concept to final design approval.
- Create and update technical drawings and design documentation for various products.
- Assess materials and design components to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Enhance design processes to boost production efficiency and improve product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and cost-efficient.
- Support the research, design, and selection of tooling, fixtures, and gauges for manufacturing.
- Manage equipment designs, modifications, upgrades, and automation projects.
- Promote a Zero Injury Culture by developing safe work procedures and leading by example.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient in creating and interpreting technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid understanding of material properties and various manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, Non-Destructive Testing (Magnetic Particle, Pressure Testing, Dye Penetrant), and Mechanical Testing (Tensile, Hardness, Grain Size).
- Knowledge of design principles for different manufacturing techniques, including CNC machining and 3D printing.
- Experience working in an ISO/AS9100 certified facility and conducting quality audits.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
