Senior Operations Engineer - Manufacturing - Sturbridge, MA

I. Technical Leadership
Strategic Planning and Innovation
* Lead and support the development of innovative processes and technologies.
* Define manufacturing processes for small batch custom materials/parts.
* Manage critical projects, including capital projects, equipment installations, and upgrades.
Process Improvement
* Develop, improve, and implement robust production methods and business processes.
* Apply engineering principles and statistical methods to data analysis and experimental design, using this information to enhance existing processes.
Quality and Efficiency
* Partner with Quality Assurance to monitor yields and implement continuous improvement programs.
* Evaluate, implement, and support automated inspection systems and equipment.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
* Communicate with customers to understand their needs and specifications.
* Provide technical sales support and participate in resolving customer issues.
Team Influencer
* Oversee work, provide guidance, and support the professional development of team members, including Engineering Technicians and early-career Engineers.
Technical Implementation
II. Hands-on Production Support
* Provide hands-on technical support on the manufacturing floor.
* Work with design and mechanical engineers to help design, build, and implement fixtures to support manufacturing processes.
Troubleshooting
* Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues that impact quality or cost-effectiveness.
Documentation
* Ensure all process documentation is accurate, in place, and up-to-date.
* Define and validate process routers, work instructions, and preventive maintenance requirements.
Quality Control
* Conduct on-site quality checks and participate in problem-solving activities.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ Years of manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated operations experience
- Forming and finishing expertise
- Six sigma black belt/green belt
- Leadership experience
- Strong Communication skills
Job Offer
Competitive Base Salary: $120,000 - $145,000
