Accountant - Family Office - New York City
The Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and cash functions for multiple entities and individuals. Individual must be a self-study with public accounting experience and exposure to audit and/or tax.

Our client is a single-family office based in New York City. This client manages the wealth of a known American businessman.
Description
The key responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Perform daily reconciliation and review of prior day's cash transactions, including those from bank websites.
- Prepare and process partnership capital calls and distributions.
- Post transactions and maintain general ledgers for individuals, trusts, private foundations, partnerships, and corporations, including securities purchases, charitable donations, real estate transactions, loan payments, and K-1 activity.
- Prepare daily cash transactions, monitor cash activity and liquidity, and coordinate with banking institutions.
- Reconcile monthly bank and brokerage accounts, including downloading online statements and tax documents from websites.
- Gather vendor information and prepare Form 1099s.
- Prepare year-end work papers for bookkeeping and tax purposes and complete 1099 reconciliations for the internal tax team to assist in preparing tax returns.
Profile
The ideal candidate will posses the following qualities:
- 5-7 years of public accounting experience or combination of public and private
- Prior Family Office experience a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Master's or working towards CPA preferred.
- Knowledge of Accounting software programs
- Familiarity with private equity and investments in general
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be on-site 5 days/week
