Client Details

Our client is a reputable, local General Contractor in the Raleigh area that has been around for over 40 years. They are a family-owned General Contractor specializing in CM at Risk and design-build construction projects of education, commercial, and municipal projects. The company focuses on delivering exceptional projects while building repeat client relationships. They focus heavily on safety for their team members, and utilizing cutting-edge technology. They are seeking a Safety Coordinator in the field to learn, grow with the team, and help ensure the safety of people on site!

Description

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, standards, and best practices to mitigate potential hazards and promote a secure working environment
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments on construction sites, identifying potential hazards and proposing technological solutions to mitigate risks
  • Manage Pender OSHA SHARP program by scheduling meetings every two months and ensuring compliance with program requirements
  • Select subcontractors to participate in the OSHA SHARP meetings
  • Join OSHA representatives during site visits
  • Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of any OSHA recommended corrections with the designated timeframe
  • Develop and implement training programs on the use of safety technologies for construction personnel
  • Provide ongoing education and support to ensure the proper understanding and utilization of safety tools and equipment
  • Establish real-time monitoring systems to track safety metrics and provide immediate alerts for potential safety breaches
  • Generate regular reports on safety performance, incidents, and safety catches, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on industry safety regulations and standards, ensuring that construction sites comply with all relevant safety requirements
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies as needed and participate in audits to verify compliance
  • Contribute to the development of emergency response plans, utilizing technology to enhance communication and coordination during critical situations
  • Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response protocols
  • Foster strong communication channels between construction teams, safety officers, and project managers to address safety concerns promptly
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety tech seamlessly into the construction workflow

Profile

The successful Safety Coordinator will:

  • Be OSHA-30 Certified
  • Have a valid Driver's License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good work ethic with a passion for keeping the jobsite and people safe
  • Be open to being on-site full-time during the project. As time goes on, multi-project travel may be required.

Job Offer

The Safety Coordinator will be receive:

  • Base salary contingent on experience, ranging $60,000-$100,000
