Client Details
My client, located in on Long Island, is a manufacturer specializing in high-reliability power and control solutions for demanding applications. The company focuses on power distribution, control, and conversion technologies, as well as motion control and space-qualified components. Their products, including solid-state power controllers and radiation-hardened single board computers, primarily serve the aerospace, defense, and space industries.
Description
Key responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer include:
- Provide daily QA support to all departments, resolving production issues for on-time, cost-efficient quality shipments.
- Establish and maintain quality planning, ensuring product and process adherence to standards and effective communication.
- Resolve quality discrepancies internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
- Monitor and communicate performance against customer quality requirements.
- Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures.
- Analyze non-conformities, implement corrective/preventative actions, and verify their effectiveness.
- Review technical documentation (drawings, quality plans, change notices, processes, SOPs).
- Support incoming inspection and material review processes.
- Plan and track product qualification testing.
- Contribute technical and cost input to business opportunities.
Profile
The successful Senior Quality Engineer will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or Applied Sciences preferred; Six Sigma knowledge a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience required.
- Familiarity with quality, military, and industry standards (AS9100, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-883, IPC-A-610) desired.
- Proven ability to develop, analyze, articulate, and present technical information effectively, both written and verbally.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with management, customers, and vendors.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
