I'm partnered with the VP of Finance at a leading, $300M+ global manufacturer and provider of mobility solutions, specializing in their design, manufacture, and distribution. Located near Stevensville, MI, they offer a wide range of products to their customers across various industries, with an emphasis on innovation, quality, and durability. They are looking to identify a North America Controller to join their growing team.
As the North America Controller, this individual will direct all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations for North America, while being an integral asset to the continued growth of their shared service group. This individual will have very high exposure to senior leadership, reporting into the VP of Finance and partnering cross-functionally as a vital member of their leadership team. This is an exciting role where you will have full ownership over the North America operations, while overseeing a team of nine individuals!

As this company is in the midst of rapidly expanding their operations, they are actively looking to bring on a North America Controller to oversee and manage the entire accounting functions for their North America operations.This role will encompass critical responsibilities such as directing all aspects of accounting operations, developing and maintaining accounting policies and systems, and overseeing a team of nine individuals.
By working closely with the VP of Finance, you will play an integral role in the company's ongoing success and growth, with a direct impact on decision-making. Description
North America Controller Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire accounting operation, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions across all areas including ledgers, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Develop and manage comprehensive accounting procedures and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Ensure financial records are aligned with best accounting practices.
- Prepare and review regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and balance sheet activities, optimizing financial performance and resource allocation.
- Lead efforts to streamline financial reporting structures across various entities, aiming to consolidate multiple general ledgers into a unified system for the broader organization.
- Provide oversight and support to finance teams at local facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate accounting standards.
- Lead and coordinate external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and addressing any issues that arise.
- Oversee the accurate valuation of inventory in accordance with accounting standards. Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Examine and evaluate the company's financial outcomes, focusing on profitability, cost trends, and alignment with budgetary expectations.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to assist in forecasting and managing financial results. Work closely with team members to identify key revenue and expense drivers and develop tailored reports to monitor these metrics effectively.
- Review and assess proposals for capital investments, conducting thorough analysis on return-on-investment and payback period assumptions. Approve requests that meet the required financial criteria.

Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance
- MBA or CPA highly preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Prior management and leadership experience required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to drive business performance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated expertise in accounting software and ERP systems
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and environments
