Our client, a well-established food manufacturing company near Kenosha, WI, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead key financial functions including month-end and year-end close, cost and inventory accounting, and team leadership. Description
- Take full ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead cost accounting efforts including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Collaborate closely with operations to analyze production costs and drive efficiency improvements.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial reporting systems.
- Support external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning and cross-functional initiatives.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
- Deep expertise in cost accounting and inventory management within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong ERP and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities
