Controller - Contract
My client is seeking for an interim controller to join their organization. This is an interim opportunity with the potential to convert temp to hire. This role will be five days onsite.

My client is a construction organization based in Chicago, IL.
Description
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare financial statements, job cost reports, and profitability analyses.
Develop operating budgets, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
Assist project managers in tracking costs and identifying budget risks.
Job Costing & Project Management:
Oversee job cost reports and ensure proper cost allocation.
Collaborate with project managers to track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
Monitor job cost trends and revenue recognition compliance.
Treasury & Cash Management:
Manage daily cash flow, invoicing, collections, and payments.
Oversee reconciliations, project-related accounts, and tax compliance.
Team Leadership:
Lead and train the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Conduct meetings with project teams to review financial performance.
Implement training programs for compliance with industry regulations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure tax, bonding, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee labor union reporting, payroll tax compliance, and audits.
Fixed Assets & Equipment:
Oversee equipment tracking, depreciation, and capital expenditures.
Ensure accurate accounting for asset utilization and maintenance.
Process Improvement & Strategy:
Drive adoption of financial software and process enhancements.
Support strategic planning, reporting for stakeholders, and contract negotiations.
Reporting Structure
Profile
- Completed bachelors degree in accounting, or finance
- CPA preferred
- 4-12 years accounting experience within construction industry
- Strong proficiency in MS Office suite and accounting software
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Job Offer
