Estimator - Public Renovation Projects - North Shore
Founded in 1996 with 27 years in business. My client is a high-growth construction company specializing in publicly bid commercial construction projects throughout Massachusetts. Over the past five years, they have significantly increased project volume, expanded business to new markets (working with private clients), and nearly doubled their workforce.

Description
- Prepare accurate and competitive bids for public (MGL Ch. 149/30) and private-sector projects
- Analyze plans and specs, perform takeoffs, and develop detailed cost estimates
- Manage subcontractor/vendor outreach, pricing, and scope reviews
- Lead the full bid process - from IFBs to bid submission and post-bid follow-up
- Collaborate with leadership on contract negotiations and preconstruction strategy
- Build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and agency contacts
- Help evaluate project risks and ensure proper contingencies are in place
Profile
- 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- Public bidding experience (especially MGL Ch. 149 & 30)
- Familiarity with private work and a desire to help grow that side of the business
- Strong technical skills: takeoffs, pricing, estimating software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to juggle multiple bids and deadlines without losing precision
Job Offer
- $120,000 - $150,000 on the base
- Year end bonus
- 401k - 3% match
