Business Development Manager - Air/Ocean Logistics - Remote
Our client is looking for an ambitious, self-starting Business Development Manager to help drive sales across the automotive and greater industrial industries. You will be responsible for scaling ocean & air spend along with Cargo Insurance across new small to medium sized accounts. This role is remote based in the Midwest.

Description
- Business Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the air freight and cargo insurance sectors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their logistics needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential clients, and use this data to inform business development strategies.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing our services and value proposition.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations and marketing, to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment on business goals.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations with clients to secure contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build industry connections and promote our services.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the logistics, air freight, or insurance industries.
- Strong understanding of air freight operations and cargo insurance products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
