Advanced Manufacturing Engineer- Medical Device- Billerica, MA
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with a strong background in medical device research and development-particularly in implantable biologic materials. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, biology, materials science, and chemistry. You will contribute to product development, technology transfer, and innovative research supporting a growing biologics portfolio.

Description
- Support the advancement of biologic medical products by developing and updating test methods, expanding the product portfolio, and designing new manufacturing processes.
- Lead efforts for new biologic product transfers, including process updates, tissue/solution testing, and understanding new manufacturing workflows.
- Conduct research into novel implantable biologic materials, including literature reviews, early-stage development, and benchtop studies.
- Design and validate manufacturing steps related to biologic tissue processing.
- Perform analytical testing across multiple disciplines, including analytical chemistry, bioanalysis, materials science, and process engineering.
- Conduct routine biological tissue testing such as chemical/biological assays, histology, and mechanical testing.
- Work comfortably with both human and animal tissue.
- Apply strong experimental design principles, execute studies, and analyze data effectively.

Profile
A successful Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer should have:
- BS or MS degree in Biomedical, Biological, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience within biologics, biomaterials, or regenerative medicine.
- Strong understanding of biologic materials and their behavior in medical device applications.
- Background in life sciences (cell biology, tissue science, physiology, biochemistry, or chemistry) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems creatively.
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry or bioanalytical procedures is a plus.
