Senior QA Manager
In this role, you will oversee and implement quality control processes to ensure the integrity and safety of our products. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and enforcing quality standards, performing regular audits and inspections, and working with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues. Additionally, you will be involved in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

A prominent specialized manufacturer of premium frozen foods, our client caters to clients in branded retail, private label, and foodservice sectors. They employ a comprehensive approach that spans from developing innovative new products or faithfully reproducing existing recipes to overseeing the entire production and packaging process. Their diverse custom product range encompasses poultry, meat, and fish specialties, along with pastas, soups, sauces, certified organic, and vegetarian options.
Description
- Lead and manage the QA team, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to ensure continuous professional growth and excellence.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure product integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure all products meet or exceed food safety and quality standards, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of audits, both internal and external, including those by regulatory bodies and customers.
- Identify areas for quality improvement within production processes and implement effective solutions to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to track and analyze quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the development and execution of product testing protocols, including sensory evaluations, microbiological testing, and chemical analyses.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to resolve quality issues and support new product development with robust QA processes.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet quality standards, conducting supplier audits and assessments as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a supplier quality assurance program, including the evaluation and approval of new suppliers.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive QA documentation, including quality manuals, SOPs, and compliance records.
- Prepare and present detailed quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Address customer complaints and inquiries related to product quality, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the customer service and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to quality commitments.
- Work closely with production, R&D, supply chain, and other departments to ensure alignment on quality objectives and initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects, contributing QA expertise to support overall business goals.
- Develop and deliver quality training programs for employees across the organization, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulations, and advancements in quality assurance technologies and methodologies.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of significant quality issues or product recalls, coordinating with relevant departments to implement effective solutions and communication plans.
- Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential quality incidents proactively.
Profile
- In-depth knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations and industry standards
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Keen attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions
- Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is advantageous
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related field
- Fluency in Spanish is required
