Assistant Property Manager- Chicago, IL
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of a 200-unit multifamily community.
Client Details
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of a 200-unit multifamily community. This role supports the Property Manager in maximizing property performance, achieving occupancy and rent goals, maintaining high resident satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Description
Leasing & Marketing:
Assist with leasing activities including showing units, processing applications, and preparing lease documents.
Maintain accurate records of traffic, leases, and renewals.
Support community marketing initiatives and resident retention efforts.
Resident Relations:
Respond promptly and professionally to resident inquiries and service requests.
Help resolve resident concerns and complaints to ensure high satisfaction.
Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs, including inspections and paperwork.
Operations & Administration:
Assist with rent collection, posting payments, and enforcing lease policies.
Help manage vendor relationships and coordinate maintenance and repair work.
Maintain accurate records of all property operations using property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, etc.).
Prepare reports as requested by the Property Manager or Regional Manager.
Property Appearance & Maintenance:
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure curb appeal and compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of work orders and unit turns.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant regulations, and company policies.
Assist with audits and prepare documentation as required.
Profile
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
2-5 years of experience in property management or leasing.
Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and landlord-tenant regulations.
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, etc.).
Ability to work weekends and on-call hours as needed.
