Python/Java Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Python/Java Developer to join our Technology Department in the Financial Services industry. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of both Python and Java, with a proven track record in similar roles.

Please note: This is a contract position to start. Candidates must be able to work on a W2 (no visa sponsorship available) and be onsite five days a week. Mandarin language skills are a plus!

Description

• Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python and Java code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Python/Java Developer should have:

• Proficiency in Python, Java, and the Spring Framework.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful services.
• Experience with popular web application frameworks.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle.
• Proficient understanding of continuous integration.
