Client Details
We are currently partnered up with a growing Manufacturing Company about $500M in Revenue in their search for a Cost Accountant to join the team. This role will report up into the Assistant Controller and will work closely with the FP&A team while being the sole Cost Accountant in the A&F department. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in cost accounting within a manufacturing company, SAP Experience, and enjoys process improvements. Description
The Cost Accountant - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Work closely with operations and production teams to monitor cost variances and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and production reporting.
- Conduct inventory analysis, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
- Review and analyze bills of materials (BOMs) and routings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to production and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Utilize SAP to extract data, perform transactions, and generate financial and operational reports
Profile
The ideal Cost Accountant - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of SAP (especially FI/CO and MM modules) is required.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Offer
The successful Cost Accountant - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience (potential to be considered at a Senior Cost Accountant role at the high end of the budget)
