Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Our client is seeking a highly organized and motivated Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support a team of attorneys and paralegals in a dynamic environment. This role focuses on assisting with various real estate transactions, including loan closings, document management, and post-closing tasks, with minimal travel required. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable with independent and collaborative work.

The company is a prominent real estate finance organization that specializes in providing tailored lending solutions across various property sectors, such as multifamily, single-family rentals, commercial properties, and more.

Description

  • Collaborate closely with senior managers and a team of attorneys and paralegals on complex real estate transactions, including Bridge, Mezzanine, Preferred Equity, Construction, and Single-Family Rentals.
  • Coordinate and review post-closing due diligence items, such as title reports and recorded documents.
  • Organize and distribute original loan documents within the organization and to third-party custodians.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and execution of loan documents, including handling special projects and participating in closings as needed.
  • Draft and record assignment documents for asset transfers into various banking lines, warehouses, and securitization vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain systems for organizing and storing documents across various platforms.

Profile

  • Education: Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience: At least 5-7 years in commercial real estate lending, preferably within a mid-to-large law firm or a recognized title insurance company. Experience in banking, warehousing, or securitization is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reviewing and auditing due diligence items (e.g., title, survey, organization documents, and UCCs).
  • Experienced in handling recordable items such as mortgages and UCC filings.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-orientation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and accountability.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Job Offer

  • Travel: Minimal (0-10%) within NYC and Long Island.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary with discretionary bonus potential based on performance. The total compensation package includes medical, dental, 401(k), and paid time off benefits.
