Program Manager - Defense Manufacturing - Lowell, MA
As the Program Manager you should possess a deep understanding of the production process and actively drive improvements in processes by utilizing lean/ quality tools. Furthermore, you'll assist in the seamless integration of new processes and products into the current production line. It's a dynamic position that requires engaging with customers, product development, operators, and management in order to attain the customer's production objectives.

My client is an innovative manufacturer of specialty heat treated and cooled metals for applications in many industries, especially oil/gas and aerospace & defense. The company is steadily growing and offers room for growth for its employees.
Description
This position will report directly into the Director of Engineering and be responsible for:
- Supporting the manufacturing line with a focus on continuous process improvement, incorporating Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Defining critical mechanical inputs to enhance the production process
- Developing, executing, and analyzing Design of Experiments (DOEs) to optimize processes
- Overseeing defect analysis, directing technicians, and coordinating responses and corrective actions within the work center for MRTs
- Providing process training, including operator training for all process-related ATI and DOI changes, and standardize all operations
- Developing and leading/participating in teams to drive process improvements
Profile
A successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's in Engineering
- 3+ years of Program Management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Tools and 6 Sigma knowledge
- NPD skills and experience
- Budget and schedule management experience
- SPC knowledge
