Automation Engineer - Manufacturing - Southbridge, MA
The Automation Engineer will ideally have experience with robot programming, debugging, automation, documentation, problem solving, and some project management skills. You will identify automated solutions in order to continue the companies continuous improvement initiative.

Description
In this role you will report directly into the Director of Operations and will have the opportunity to:
- Develop, program, and optimize robotic systems for automated manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, precision, and repeatability.
- Integrate and maintain automated production systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems, to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and refine robotic programs to improve cycle time, accuracy, and overall system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, streamline workflows, and enhance process efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production data, implementing automation solutions, and optimizing existing systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality management system (QMS) standards, maintaining proper documentation and conducting risk assessments related to automated processes.
- Train and support production and maintenance teams on automated equipment operation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Profile
A successful candidate will have:
- 3-5+ years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment
- PLC and HMI programming knowledge
- Robot programming skills (fanuc preferred)
- QMS familiarity
- Supervisor experience is a plus
