Estimator - Federal/Government Construction

Description

The Estimator will support preconstruction efforts on a variety of secure federal projects, both ground-up and interior renovations, and will report directly to the Director of Estimating. The company is open to both general construction and electrical estimators, with clear growth paths and excellent team support in place.




Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for federal construction projects ranging from $100K to $5M+

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing

  • Analyze hard bids and negotiated proposals; provide pricing strategies and risk evaluations

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value engineering sessions

  • Assist in post-bid buyout and scope reviews as needed

  • Ensure compliance with government requirements and secure site protocols

Profile

  • 3-7+ years of estimating experience in federal construction (general or electrical)

  • Experience with interior renovations and/or ground-up projects

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam; additional estimating software experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding of construction documents and cost breakdowns

  • Experience with hard bids and/or negotiated contracts

  • Ability to pass a background check (due to the nature of secure government work)

  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines

Job Offer

  • Base Salary: Up to $130K (commensurate with experience)

  • Annual Bonus: Up to 20%
