Quality Engineer - Metal Manufacturing - Dartmouth, MA
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of production processes, focusing on identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous quality enhancement. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product issues, implement process improvements, and maintain compliance with industry standards at our Dartmouth, MA facility.

Description
The Quality Engineer, Metal Manufacturing, Will:
- Lead and optimize production processes, including heat treatment and finishing, for Nickel, Titanium, and specialty steel products
- Serve as the technical lead for heat treatment and finishing processes
- Improve process efficiency, product quality, and safety while supporting new product and process standardization
- Provide technical support to enhance yields, resolve non-conformances, and improve manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to improve safety, equipment performance, and product quality
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, such as risk assessments, process audits, and standard work
- Analyze thermo-mechanical processing data to support internal and external customers
- Assist Product Engineering and R&D in developing and standardizing new products and processes
- Drive problem-solving and corrective actions for production-related issues
- Support process optimization to enhance product consistency and minimize waste
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across processes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new product and process standards

Profile
- B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering
- 2 plus years of experience in a quality engineer role
- Six Sigma or related certification preferred
- Proficient in statistical data analysis
- Strong expertise in metals processing and structure/property relationships
- Knowledge of thermo-mechanical processing, heat treatment, and finishing of materials like Nickel, Titanium, and specialty steels
- Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement in manufacturing environments
- Ability to convey technical concepts clearly, both on the shop floor and in written reports
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Data-driven and scientifically rigorous problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience in operator interaction and shop floor observation
