Description

Core Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Leader

  • Oversee GMP Accreditation and Inspections: Manage the certification process for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including internal audits and preparations for external evaluations to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Uphold GMP and Safety Standards: Enforce strict adherence to GMP and safety protocols throughout all production areas to ensure a secure and compliant workplace.
  • Cross-Functional Issue Resolution: Work collaboratively with different departments to address quality concerns and ensure the production of products that meet established quality standards.
  • Ensure Consistent Daily Quality Standards: Supervise daily production to ensure quality benchmarks are consistently achieved, intervening when necessary to resolve discrepancies.
  • Problem Identification and Solution Development: Apply problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis to identify issues, implement corrective measures, and prevent recurrence. Inspire and lead teams to exceed performance expectations while maintaining high standards.
  • Lead Process Improvements: Facilitate interdepartmental meetings focused on continuous improvement, ensuring that quality and operational enhancements are integrated into daily workflows.
  • Evaluate New Products for Quality: Conduct quality assessments of new products to ensure they meet all specifications and expectations before being produced.
  • Support Safety and Compliance Programs: Contribute to the ongoing management of safety programs, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), to ensure the safety and integrity of products.
  • Investigate Customer Feedback: Handle customer complaints by collaborating directly with operators and supervisors to determine the root cause and implement corrective measures.
  • Supervise Key Production Runs: Monitor critical production runs, particularly for top customers, to ensure that any potential issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and ensure the timely and accurate submission of data reports, tracking product quality and process performance.
  • Collaborate with Design and Pre-Press Teams: Work alongside the design and pre-press teams to conduct testing and ensure that new items meet all necessary quality standards before production.
  • Oversee Product Traceability and Recall Process: Manage the traceability and recall systems to ensure that all products are easily traceable and can be recalled if needed.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation and records for quality control, audits, and corrective actions in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage Allergen Awareness Programs: Oversee allergen management initiatives, ensuring that products comply with allergen labelling and safety requirements.
  • Lead Corrective Action Initiatives: Oversee the corrective and preventive action programs, ensuring that both internal and external customer complaints are thoroughly addressed with actionable solutions.
  • Update Quality Documentation and SOPs: Regularly review and update the quality manual and standard operating procedures to reflect any changes in processes, regulatory requirements, or industry best practices.
  • Ensure SOP Compliance Across Teams: Monitor adherence to established procedures across departments, ensuring that all teams follow the quality standards throughout the production process.

Profile

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business or a related discipline, is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Between 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in safety management and quality assurance, ideally within a manufacturing setting. Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry is a significant plus.
  • Licensing: Must possess a valid, up-to-date driver's license.
  • Communication Abilities: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with external contractors, service technicians (on-site or remote), and internal teams.
  • Availability: Willing to work extra hours and weekends, as needed, to ensure business goals are met.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is an advantage.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is highly desirable, Certification as a Forklift/High Lift Trainer is beneficial., UST Class A/B operator training or certification is preferred.
  • Ongoing Training: Commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in required safety training and educational programs such as OSHA, safety raffles, and other related training.

Job Offer

  • Base salary north of $120,000
