I'm working with a leading transportation company seeking a Senior AP Specialist to join their finance team near Northlake, IL. The company provides comprehensive freight solutions across warehousing, intermodal, and air, with a strong reputation for reliability, efficiency, and customer service.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Senior AP Specialist will maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely payments, and support strong vendor relationships.

Description
Senior AP Specialist Responsibilities:
- Accurately process a high volume of vendor invoices within required timelines
 - Reconcile large, nationwide accounts and ensure invoice accuracy across multiple locations
 - Prepare and execute payment runs, including both ACH and check disbursements
 - Research and resolve invoice issues and respond to vendor questions promptly
 - Organize and maintain accounts payable documentation and records
 - Support month-end close activities, reporting, and audit requests
 - Partner with internal teams to promote financial accuracy and process efficiency
 
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business
 - Minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting
 - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting systems
 - Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills
 - Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
 - Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
