Superintendent - New Jersey Commercial

This unique hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead premier ground-up commercial and luxury residential builds across New Jersey. You will maintain full site authority while managing the critical administrative and financial milestones of each project.

Our client is a premier New Jersey-based Design-Build firm specializing in high-end custom residential and diverse commercial sectors, including childcare, medical, and retail. With over four decades of excellence, they are known for navigating complex municipal approvals and delivering sophisticated, ground-up projects through a hands-on, family-oriented leadership style.

Description

• On-Site Leadership: Direct all daily field operations, ensuring subcontractors adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and the master schedule.
• Project Administration: Manage RFI processes, submittals, and change orders while maintaining accurate project logs and documentation.
• Schedule Management: Develop and update detailed project schedules (Gantt charts) to ensure timely delivery of multi-million dollar developments.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, review subcontractor invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, and municipal inspectors to resolve technical bottlenecks.
• Procurement: Coordinate the delivery and staging of long-lead materials to prevent site downtime.

Profile

The ideal candidate is a player-coach who is as comfortable in steel-toed boots as they are behind a laptop. You should possess:

• Experience: 7+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction.
• Versatility: A proven track record of managing site safety while simultaneously handling the paperwork side of project management.
• Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of New Jersey building codes and a reliable network of regional subcontractors.
• Communication: The ability to communicate firmly with trades while providing professional, high-level updates to ownership.
