Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer III will focus on enhancing production processes for furnace-brazed cold plates and radio waveguides, while also creating detailed documentation to support high-volume and long-term manufacturing efforts. This role requires a detail-driven individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Description
- Partner with a multidisciplinary team to outline, develop, and document production strategies for both new and existing products.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing workflows tailored to production facility needs.
- Create precise, detailed work instructions to guide manufacturing operations.
- Design tools and fixtures aimed at minimizing setup times and reducing material waste.
- Evaluate fabrication, machining, and assembly processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Assess production metrics such as yield, setup duration, and cycle time to lower scrap rates, minimize rework, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance overall productivity.
- Implement enhancements to current manufacturing methods.
- Collaborate with vendors to address and resolve production-related issues.
- Participate in review boards to help resolve material discrepancies and quality concerns.
- Monitor trends and recommend process optimization strategies to boost consistency and performance.
- Take a proactive role in project development by integrating manufacturing standards, proposing meaningful metrics, and fostering an positive, results-driven team culture.
- Demonstrate alignment with organizational values in daily tasks and decisions.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Practical experience in brazing, machining, heat treatment, plating, welding, or mechanical/non-destructive testing
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Epicor ERP 10 or similar ERP/MES platforms
- Capable of understanding and communicating basic safety guidelines and manufacturing procedures
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including two-digit addition and subtraction, as well as multiplication and division using base-10 numbers
