Senior Project Manager - Construction
Client Details
Our client is a well‑established General Contractor founded in the 1980s, headquartered in Princeton, NJ, and servicing Central/Northern New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. Known for its excellent reputation, strong employee tenure, and consistent project pipeline, the firm delivers projects across commercial, corporate interiors, healthcare, academic, hospitality, and general construction sectors. - Project Management: Manage multiple commercial and corporate interiors projects simultaneously, ranging from $200K to $10M, with many in the $5-20M range.
- Schedule Management: Lead projects from inception through closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a client‑facing leader, maintaining strong relationships and representing the company with professionalism and authority.
- Documentation: Oversee project schedules using MS Project and manage documentation workflows through ProjectSight (similar to Procore).
- Safety Compliance: Conduct regular job‑site visits throughout Northern NJ to ensure progress, safety compliance, quality control, and effective contractor coordination.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs, clear communication, and effective project execution.
Profile
- 15+ years of project management experience with commercial general contractors.
- Proven background in both corporate interiors and general construction - candidates lacking either discipline will not be considered.
- Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Must reside in Northern New Jersey or be fully commutable to weekly site visits north of Princeton (95% of work is north of the office).
- Ability to interface directly with clients and lead projects autonomously.
- Experience and execution matter more than formal degrees; this is a role for an established, seasoned PM.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, leadership maturity, and readiness to transition into senior-level oversight.
