Sr. Estimator - Luxury Residential / Hospitality Construction

$120,000 - $160,000/Year

The Senior Estimator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project estimation, ensuring accuracy, risk management, and cost efficiency while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. This role involves budget oversight, process improvement, team leadership, and fostering vendor and subcontractor relationships. The Senior Estimator may work as an individual or lead a team of estimators to develop the cost to complete project scope.

Description

  • Lead estimating with conceptual and estimate milestone budgets to owners, design team, and team members through the final estimate submission for Prime Contract.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered across all projects to external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure estimate accuracy, including risk analysis, and historical cost updates are maintained. Manages multiple projects concurrently with ability to multitask on all project delivery methods.
  • Assists with the development and monitoring cost control systems, including budgets, design development change orders, value engineering, and variance analysis.
  • Assisting with the development and utilization of the Preconstruction processes, standards and tools
  • Lead bid analysis, ensuring accurate comparisons and scope coverage.
  • Technically competent in all types of general construction scopes showing the ability to strategize with subcontractors, design teams and clients and ask questions and provide responses with confidence.
  • Ability to manage and mentor an estimating team, providing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Preconstruction Leadership and project operations team.
  • Assisting with the development of bid packages, the project construction budget, Preconstruction Operations turn-over meetings, subcontractor/vendor relationships & project procurement and buyout.
  • Remain current on industry best practices, economic trends, and technological advancements affecting construction estimation.
  • Manage Preconstruction Requests for Information (RFIs) process with owners, design team, and subcontractors.
  • Tracks and reports on current material and equipment to identity long-lead items.
  • Offer value engineering options to optimize project efficiency and cost savings. Review cost over runs or budget breaks and alert management of potential budget issues as early as possible and work with management on possible value engineering options.

Profile

  • 10+ years of general construction estimating/preconstruction experience
  • Proven leadership in developing, mentoring, and guiding teams to achieve operational excellence
  • Skilled in conceptual estimating, with the ability to assess project feasibility and early-stage cost projections with minimal design documents.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
